Ingredients

Ready rolled shortcrust or puff pastry depending on your preferance

Left over turkey

Left over pigs in blankets

Left over vegetables

Left over stuffing

Plain flour

1 egg whisked

Brock and Morten Mayonnaise - Flavour of your choice!

Method

Lightly flour the bottom of a baking tray and set to one side.

Roll out the pastry and cut into oblong section depending on how many pasties you would like to make.

In a bowl add in your Christmas dinner leftovers. Add everything from turkey and pigs in blankets to veg and stuffing. A drop of leftover gravy makes a great addition to the mixture too. Mix together and ensure there is an even distribution of the ingredients throughout.

Add a generous spoonful of the mixture to one side of each pastry oblong, ensuring there is enough pastry around the edges to seal the mixture inside. For something a little extra, add a spoon of cranberry sauce to the top of the mixture before sealing the pastry.

Whisk the egg and use as an egg wash around the sides of the pastry to help seal the edges. Fold and tuck the edges under to create a nice shape. Add a couple of small knife holes to the top of the pasty and brush the top with the egg wash.

Add the pasties to the floured tray and cook in the oven at around 200c for 30 minutes.

Serve with your favourite Brock and Morten mayonnaise and enjoy!

This recipe is super quick and easy. After lots of cooking on the big day, we go for ready-rolled, shop-bought pastry to make things a little easier. This is a great way to use up any leftovers and also provides a great lunch to take with you on a boxing day walk!
